Your replay is research
๐๏ธ A sponsored Instagram Live ends after an hour, but the replay can feed your Meta creative pipeline for a month, and more!

Hello! You've arrived at What Actually Works ๐ค
We break down the real strategies, decisions, and plays that actually move the needle in your marketing, and here it for today.
๐๏ธ What to do with the replay after your creator goes offline
Instagram started running creator livestreams as Partnership Ads on September 29. Brands will judge those streams on sales during the broadcast.
That misses the most valuable part. An hour of a creator answering real shoppers live is a focus group you'd normally pay for, and it's sitting in the replay.
Q: What exactly is worth pulling from a replay?
Look for three moments a scripted shoot rarely captures:
- An honest first reaction to texture, taste or fit
- An objection from chat, answered on the spot
- A demo that goes slightly wrong and recovers
Each one is a hook you couldn't have written in a brief.
Want a baseline for what those hooks should achieve once they run as creator-handle ads? Billo CEO Donatas Smailys shares Meta's Partnership Ads data on October 7 at 11 AM ET with Curtis Howland ($100M+ in Meta spend) and Meta Partner Manager Reyna Baker. It's free, with recordings within 24 hours. You can secure your free spot here.
Q: How do I turn an hour into ads?
Run this the day after the stream:
- Generate a transcript from the replay's captions.
- Mark every timestamp where chat activity jumped.
- Cut 15 to 30-second clips that each open on a different question or reaction.
- Label each clip with the buyer it speaks to and the objection it answers.
- Keep only clips that differ in the first two seconds. Near-duplicates waste a test slot.
A good stream should yield five to eight distinct concepts, by my working benchmark.
Q: What do I do with the comments?
Screenshot or export them, then tally every question by theme.
On a skincare stream, that might read like this: 14 about sensitive skin, 9 about price per ounce, and 6 about shipping time.
The top theme becomes your next clip's opening line, answered in the creator's own words. The second goes onto your product page FAQ, and the third into your post-purchase email.
Q: How do I know which clips deserve budget?
Launch each clip as its own Partnership Ad, so one strong concept can't hide a weak one.
If a clip that opens on a chat objection beats your polished creative on cost per purchase, brief your next shoot around objections instead of features.
If nothing beats your control after spending twice your target CPA, treat that stream as a sales event only, and plan the next one accordingly.
Q: What should I check before cutting anything?
Confirm your creator agreement covers paid use of replay clips, and for how long. Then open last week's replay and start the tally.
