Rufus remembers everything

🧠 Here’s how to use that to be recommended by it, and more!

Hello! You've arrived at What Actually Works 🤓

We break down the real strategies, decisions, and plays that actually move the needle in your marketing, and here it for today.

🧠 Rufus remembers everything

Rufus stopped being session-based. It now carries shopping memory across visits, recommending products based on order history and past searches, not just whatever's typed into the search bar in the current session.

A customer who bought running shoes in March can get recommended a hydration product in July, in a category they never searched for, because the pattern connecting the two purchases already exists somewhere in Amazon's data.

This is a different game than ranking for a keyword. A product doesn't need to be searched for anymore to get surfaced.

It needs to be the kind of product that shows up in the cross-category pattern connecting one purchase to the next, and that pattern is built from real buying behavior across the platform, not from anything a listing itself controls directly, no matter how carefully the title or bullets were optimized.

Getting into that pattern starts with genuine cross-use, documented somewhere the system can actually read it.

A product genuinely used alongside another, described that way in real reviews and content, "I started using this after getting into running," is exactly the kind of connection the recommendation engine has data to draw on.

A product with no documented cross-category context has nothing for the pattern to find, no matter how well the individual listing ranks on its own for its own direct keyword.

Stack Influence sources exactly that kind of content: creators purchase products on Amazon with their own money and describe how they actually use them, including the connections to other things in their routine that a scripted, gifted-product review would never think to mention because nobody involved in producing it actually lives with the product day to day.

Sign up in the next two weeks and take 10% off your first campaign. You can book a free demo call to talk through which cross-category connections your product might already have and isn't capturing yet.

The next customer for a product might never search for it at all. Rufus might just remember they're the kind of person who'd want it.

Partnership with AirOps

You're Still Fighting for Rank 1. That Fight Ended.

Buyers ask ChatGPT before they ever hit your site. If it can't find you there, you don't exist to them.

This isn't a future-proofing project. It's one live session that hands you a 30-day plan to run the next month, and Josh Grant (founder of StackedGTM, former VP of Growth at Webflow) walks through exactly how on August 5 at 2pm ET.

  • Take home the exact changes that make your comparison pages the ones AI quotes
  • Get a checklist for making your pricing page the one AI trusts enough to cite word for word
  • Leave with a measurement framework that finally shows leadership what AI search is worth

Run your own pages through Josh's AEO framework live, and leave knowing precisely why AI is or isn't citing you.

Can't make it live? Register anyway and get the recording in your inbox within 24 hours.
