Plan for creators who vanish
👻 In November, some creators miss deadlines or disappear entirely, so book with a buffer and build a ladder that lands content early.

Hello! You've arrived at What Actually Works 🤓
We break down the real strategies, decisions, and plays that actually move the needle in your marketing, and here it for today.
👻 How to keep creator content flowing when creators go quiet in november
November is peak season for creators too. Their inboxes fill with brand deals, their own holiday content takes over, and some of your deliverables slip or never arrive.
If your plan assumes every creator delivers on time, the gap shows up in Black Friday week, when an empty ad slot costs the most.
Step 1: Book with a buffer
Bookings needed = assets needed ÷ (1 − no-show rate)
To land 10 assets at a 20% no-show rate, book 13. Use last Q4's rate if you tracked it. If you didn't, 20% is my working assumption.
If all 13 deliver, the extras aren't wasted. Hold them for early December, when your first wave starts to fatigue.
Step 2: Build a deadline ladder
Black Friday is November 27. Work back from ads that are live with data by November 17, which is my judgment for enough time to separate winners before the peak:
- October 12: briefs out
- October 16: creators confirmed
- October 23: product delivered
- October 26 to November 4: filming window
- November 6: first drafts due
- November 13: final files due
Late drafts then land before the peak instead of during it.
Filling a dropped slot fast is where Insense earns its keep. Vetted creators from its 115K+ marketplace across 57+ countries apply within 48 hours, and Slack updates show who's behind before the deadline passes. More than 3,500 brands and agencies use it. You can book a free strategy call
Step 3: Pay in milestones
- 30% when the first draft arrives on time
- 70% on approval of final files
- A small bonus, such as $50, for drafts delivered three or more days early
Early delivery becomes the easy choice for a creator juggling ten brands.
Step 4: Keep a reserve bench
Send product to three reserve creators up front. At $25 per unit, that's $75 of insurance.
Give them a pre-approved backup brief, a proven script they can shoot within 48 hours without waiting on you.
Step 5: Flag slippage early
Ask each creator to confirm filming dates in writing. Anyone who hasn't filmed two days before their draft deadline triggers a reserve brief that same day.
What to track
Record no-show and late rates by creator this season. Next October, your buffer comes from your own numbers.
Divide the assets you need by 0.8. If your booked creators fall short of that number, recruit the gap this week.
